Minor Illness appointments

These appointments are with our clinical pharmacist or Minor Illness Nurse who have undergone specialist training in order to be able to provide this service.  Minor illness clinic appointments are for acute conditions, common ailments and management of long term illnesses.  These appointments are available as face to face consultations or telephone consultations.

Should you be listed for a telephone consultation, the GP, Clinical Pharmacist or Minor Illness Nurse will ring you and assess (triage) the urgency of your condition and / or may ask the receptionist to contact you on their behalf to gather more information from you regarding your symptoms and to either invite you to attend surgery in person or to book you in for an appropriate time slot.  To help triage the call appropriately, the doctors have instructed all practice receptionists to take and record as much clinical detail from patient’s as possible to enable the doctor’s triage to be prioritised effectively.

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

Home visits

Patients are requested to telephone the practice on 01443 875131 (Monday to Friday) before 10.30am on the day a visit is required. The reception staff are unable to take requests for home visits after 10.30 am, any requests after this time will be put for GP attention.

When contacting the practice please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.

The practice does not carry out home visits on the basis of a lack of transport; visits are carried out when clinically appropriate. Please remember that several patients can be seen in the time it takes to do a home visit. Patients should note that more detailed examinations could be carried out by visiting the surgery rather than at their homes.
