Asthma Clinic – By appointment Patients will see the nurse who will carry out a review plus a general check-up. The nurse will also give advice and discuss any patient concerns. A GP review will follow if appropriate.
Diabetic Clinic – By appointment Patients receive regular check-ups and advice from the GP/practice nurse on lifestyle, podiatry, blood sugars and medication. You will need to have a blood and urine test (microalbuminurea) at least a week before your appointment as specimens have to be sent off for checking. This may be followed by a GP review if appropriate.
Well Woman Clinic/Cytology – By appointment Run by the practice nurse. Patients can book to have a smear examination,the clinic also offers an opportunity to discuss women’s health issues.
Hypertension Clinic – By appointment This involves both annual and regular check-ups from the practice nurse who will take your blood pressure and give advice on lifestyle. This may be followed by a GP review if appropriate.
CHD Clinic – By appointment The nurse will give lifestyle advice, screening and monitoring; this will be followed by a GP review where appropriate.
COPD Clinic – By appointment Patients will see the nurse who will carry out a review plus a general check-up which will include spirometry testing (where appropriate). The nurse will also give advice and discuss any patient concerns. A GP review will follow if appropriate.
Minor Surgery – By appointment Minor surgical procedures can be carried out at the surgery. The doctor will be happy to advise you on this. Dr Jayasinghe is the GP lead for this clinic.
Well Person Clinic – By appointment If you do not come to the surgery very often we suggest that you make an appointment with one of the nurses for a well person check. You will have a check of your blood pressure, height and weight, family history.
Antenatal Clinic – By appointment This is a midwife-led clinic providing maternity services.
Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations – By appointment Please make your appointment at least four weeks prior to your departure date to ensure adequate cover. You will need to fill out a form giving details of your itinerary. A charge may be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.
Patients Aged 75 Years and Over If you are 75 years of age or over, you should be seen annually, either by your doctor, the practice nurse, the district nurse or the health visitor. This can be arranged by the surgery or, if that is not possible, a home visit will be arranged.
Flu Vaccination An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes.
Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this.
